Neo4j Spatial - GIS for the rest of us

We've spoken about graph databases a lot these past few days and their growing importance in the problems they solve. We have a presentation from Peter Neubauer, of Neo Technology, where he discusses Neo4j-Spatial.

What is Neo4j Spatial

Neo4j Spatial is a library of utilities for Neo4j that faciliates the enabling of spatial operations on data.

This new library allows for most common 2D geometries such as:

  • (multi) point
  • (multi) linestring
  • (multi) polygon

In addition, it allows for various spatial queries such as:

  • Covered By
  • Overlap
  • Within Distance
