MongoSV Review

Derek Stainer Fresh off their new funding, 10Gen's MongoSV conference was last Friday. Luckily, I was able to head up to Silicon Valley and attend the event and to see what's new with MongoDB. I'll definitely have more to post about the conference's presentations once the slides and videos become available. But first, a couple of initial thoughts about the conference.
First the event was extremely well organized 10gen's staff did a fantastic job with registration, the event program and scheduling of the presentations. Second, the place was packed; over 500 people attended the event with as many as 100 more on the waiting list trying to get into the event. I was told was the largest conference that they've had out of the previous 12 conferences.
The content was focused on MongoDB itself, no sales pitches. With four different tracks available there was content available for a wide variety of folks. I was impressed at how full a number of the MongoDB internals presentations like the MongoDB Internals: The Storage Engine were.
There is a definitely and energy and a buzz to MongoDB that is very exciting. I definitely am walking away with a different perspective about MongoDB than I had just earlier in the day. I'll have a more detailed post about my opinions of MongoDB in a post tomorrow.
I have a few pictures that I took at the event to give a feel of the conference. But I assure you I will have many more posts about the event.
