CouchOne + Membase = Couchbase

Derek Stainer No this is not new math. However, it is true when you take a dash of CouchOne and sprinkle in a little Membase you get Couchbase. CouchOne and Membase have merged together to create "the First Comprehensive, End-to-End NoSQL Database". From a business perspective this will mark the second time that both companies have changed their identity. You'll recall that CouchOne was CouchIO and Membase was formally Northscale. It will be interesting, from a technological perspective, how the two seamingly different technologies will come together. Finally, it begs the question is the first of many mergers and acquisitions to occur for the other NoSQL databases?
