Moving from CouchDB to Riak

Linkfluence has written a post discussing their decision to migrate away from CouchDB and to Riak. Why would they decide to move approximately 35 million documents and over 2 TB of data? According to their post three reasons:

  • Scalability
  • Versionning
  • Stability

In addition to discusses the issues they ran into with CouchDB they also discuss why they chose Riak and why they decided to enlist the assistance of Basho by obtaining a support contract.

Couple of thoughts I have about the post in particular. I'm curious if Couchbase was ready if this would have solved some of problems experienced by Linkfluence. Second Tim Anglade, creator of the NoSQL tapes, posed an interesting point that BigCouch might have been able to address some of their issues as well. Regardless, it's still an interesting read.
