We're back...

As we promised we've emerged from our holiday hibernation ready to take on the new year. No doubt there was a lot of hype about NoSQL in 2010. The question for 2011 is where do we go from here? If you are a fan of Gartner's hype cycle we are either continuing to ascend the "peak of inflated expectations" or preparing to enter the "trough of disillusionment". Regardless of where NoSQL goes we are going to be here to bring you the latest news and developments in the space.

Personally I'm very excited about this upcoming year both for NoSQL and for the site. I have a number of features planned for the site in the upcoming year to make the site even more useful.

Finally, I'm always open to ideas and to help. So if you have an idea for the site or even want to contribute to the site contact us and let us know.

I'm very excited about this weeks updates. So many cool things in my opinion that we've added.

• It's finally here, user registration. Now you can register with NoSQLDatabases to make it easier to receive email updates, comment on stories and to be a part of our community. To register simply click the Register link in the right hand column, or go here.
• We finally have a job board dedicated to NoSQL positions.

I wanted to take a moment to share some news and notes from NoSQLDatabases.com with all of you.

• Our readership has continued to grow steadily and we'd like to thank all of you who visit the site, I hope that you continue to find it a useful resource as you explore the NoSQL world.
• We are going to be rolling out a couple of new content "features" starting today
  • We are going to post a "Links of the day" post every weekday that contains 3-5 links of NoSQL that are floating around.
  • We will continue posting various presentations, webcasts and whitepapers in there own post.
• Please continue submitting links for us to check out, especially important now for the "Links of the Day" section
• We have our first job posting so check it out here, if you have job posting or an upcoming event let us know by visiting our contact us page.
• We are still looking for contributors to NoSQLDatabases.com, if you have an interest in NoSQL and want to be a part of our team contact us.
• We definitely have some additional features that will be coming online this month so keep an eye out for those.

New Features Added to NoSQLDatabases

I wanted to point out several new features that we have added here at NoSQLDatabases. We are now connected throughout the interweb.

• We now have a RSS feed, Twitter stream and LinkedIn group. Links can also be found on the sidebar under the Follow Us heading.
• We've added a bookstore (powered by Amazon) and have added books that are relevant to the NoSQL discussion.
