A Quick Intro to mongosniff

Christina Chodorow, of 10Gen discusses a tool that comes with the binary distribution of MongoDB, mongosniff.

Writing an application on top of a framework on top of a driver on top of the database is a bit like playing telephone: you say “insert foo” and the database says “purple monkey dishwasher.” mongosniff lets you see exactly what the database is hearing and saying.

• Large Hadron Collider is using MongoDB. The summary of the story is provided to us by Christina Chodorow over at MongoDB here. The paper, The CMS Data Aggregation System, is available as a PDF at ScienceDirect.
• Brian Gianforcaro has written a mini tutorial to get going with MongoDB and the Haskell driver.
• Zinovsky over at Unixmen.com has written a tutorial on how to install Cassandra on Debian and Ubuntu via a PPA repository.
